Kiltonga Tales: Jane Talbot

Enjoy a warming hot chocolate before settling in for an hour of spellbinding afternoon of faerie tales! From headless horsemen and man-eating faeries to trickster rat-boys and sorrowful selkies, there’s something for everyone.
enchanting folklore and fairy tales at the beautiful Kiltonga Hall with one of Ulster’s finest storytellers.

Jane Talbot is an English storyteller and writer who moved to Northern Ireland from Scotland in 2011. The beautiful North Coast area inspired Jane’s collection of dark faerie tales for adults, The Faerie Thorn and Other Stories [Blackstaff Press, 2015]. Stories from the collection have been adapted for the stage by Big Telly Theatre Company, and the production toured the UK and Ireland April - June 2017.

Jane’s been telling stories for more than 30 years. Her stories, often playful and gruesome in equal measure, blend the traditional with the new and incorporate a potent fusion of the Irish, Scottish, English and Scandinavian traditions.

A passionate advocate of the value of oral storytelling, she’s been running storytelling training programmes since 2006.
