Friday Night Live: Amanda Agnew

After a sell-out performance in 2015, Bangor’s Amanda Agnew returns to Ards Arts Centre with her band.

With a style described as Folk/Alternative Country, her songs and voice have an earnest quality and a broad appeal, she has been writing and performing her original material since 2011 and her debut EP Haven’t Met You was released that year.

In 2015 Amanda was one of 4 performers to showcase at the famous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, at the Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival performing in support of Tony Arata, and alongside Benita Hill and Lee Roy Parnel.

Her performances earned her a nomination for Best Female Artist 2015 with Pure M Awards.

She played alongside her brother Andy Whittaker and Sam Wickens on the Music City Roots show Nashville TN airing on Television across the USA.

Amanda’s live performances are gaining momentum with recent opening slots on Bagatelle’s last tour and for Nik Kershaw, Go West and Level 42 at Belfast’s Waterfront Hall and a solo slot during the grand finale at the 2016 Belfast Tattoo at the SSE Arena

Amanda’s latest EP, Think of You, was recorded in Sony Studios in Nashville and has been making waves on the local scene
